Before the Bridge
Senior K9 Rescue

Welcome to Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue

Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue is a volunteer operated, non-profit rescue group located in Stony Mountain, Manitoba. We rescue senior dogs in need that have been surrendered, neglected or dumped in a pound and help them to find permanent, loving homes to live out their days.

Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue places dogs with loving foster families, who care for the dogs until they find their forever homes. The foster families and volunteers are the foundation of Before the Bridge and we couldn't operate without them.

Featured Dog:
Millie and Ralphie

Sweet and adorable Millie and Ralph are looking for their forever home. They are healthy 14-year old Border Collie cross siblings from the same litter. They are bonded pair and have been together their whole lives, they would like to be adopted together. Ralph is neutered and Millie is spayed, both are fully housetrained. They have similar markings, both have gentle natures, they love hugs, are great with brushing, good with kids, eat well and are good on walks – but they are quite different from one another as well. Ralph is a big floppy boy with long hair who loves to shove his face into snowbanks and is super camera shy. Millie is a trim, elegant smooth haired girl who is happiest at your side – preferably in physical contact. Between long naps off on his own, Ralph will come and ask for pats and love. Millie is more active and will be your constant companion – on the move or at rest, she wants to be near you. They do have some separation anxiety, but they do just fine if contained in a room together when you’re not at home. They are friendly with strangers, and not big barkers, but will give you a barky excited welcome when you come home. They are easy to care for and easy to love.
